Animals

These are photos of some animals at Goose Creek.  In addition, we see plenty of deer, the kids catch minnows from the creek and we continually find giant variaties of wolf and garden spiders.

This is a 69" King Black Snake we found while working in the front room.  Kennedy said, "We could probably jump rope with it."

This is Brad the sheep.  He's a purebred Katadhin hair sheep.  Brad's about 7 months old and follows you around like a puppy.  We let him out in the yard on occasion to eat apples.

This is Thelma on the left and Louise on the right.  They are American Blackbelly hair sheep and little on the wild side.  They escaped when I initially turned them out but we found them across the street on the neighbors land.  It took us about a month to catch them and now they are locked in the barn until I get the electric fence hooked up.  They are both supposed to be pregnant but who knows.  According the man from whom I bough them, they should be due around the beginning of November.  Blackbellies are notorious for not showing their pregnancy until the final month.

Demolition

Here are some shots of the demolition we've done so far.  The pictures of the front room are in preparation to level up that side of the house.  We are currently in the process of leveling the opposite side of the house.

Front room with rotten/termite damaged joists & floors removed

Exterior of front room.  We had to reinforce the existing wall studs due to water damage.  The dirt came from inside, I had to dig about a foot out to manuver joists and cribbing.

Joists in place
Plenty of wallpaper scraping

The Beginning

Alright John and Jessica, this is mainly for you.

Here are some pictures of our farmhouse we bought back in July and the accompanying 20 acres.  We first looked at the property a couple of years ago but it was priced out of our range.  It was since reduced several times and we decided to take the plunge.  There are 11 wooded acres, 7 acres of pasture, a half acre lot with the barn and the remainder, which is surrounded by a white board fence, is our yard.
